The will host a tennis mixer on Tuesday, Oct. 28, for community members who want to play against members of the team.
The mixer is from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and is free to play. Participants will be paired up alongside a member of the Golden Tigers tennis team to play doubles.
鈥淲e were looking to do something fun in the fall, as our spring season is our big season,鈥 Head Coach Kathryn Barker said. 鈥淲e wanted to do something that would bring members of the community, as well as 黑料社区网 students, faculty and staff to the courts.鈥
Barker said she鈥檇 like to make the mixer an annual event. It is open to all levels, but basic tennis abilities are required. For true beginners, private lessons are offered for a fee throughout the year. Earlier this year, the Golden Tigers also offered a five-week Junior Tennis Clinic for middle and high school students.聽
鈥淭he team is so excited, we have a really great group this season,鈥 Barker said. 鈥淭hey love to get involved with the community, and some of them give lessons or string rackets. This event is a good opportunity for the community to get to know the women on the team and vice-versa, and to just have fun playing the sport.鈥
There is no fee for this event, and registration is required. Spaces are limited to eight participants. To sign up, contact Kathryn Barker at kbarker1@brenau.edu.
